hourly alarm, day two

2 days into the hourly alarm thing. It goes off every 50 minutes, I get up, walk to the kitchen or just pace by the window, stretch my neck out, then sit back down. Nothing dramatic, just trying to move before my back locks up instead of after.

Yesterday I ignored it twice because I was mid-task, and by 9pm my lower back was doing the usual thing, tight right across the base of my spine. Today I actually got up every time it buzzed, 8 times, and made it to the evening without that same pull behind my shoulder blades.

Not saying it fixed anything. More like I finally saw the pattern I’ve been stuck in for years, sit, tense up, blame the chair, repeat. Next week I want to try standing through at least one call a day instead of just the alarm breaks, see where that gets me by Friday.

the bit about realizing you sit, tense up, and blame the chair on repeat is way too real, I’ve been doing that exact loop for years and just calling it how my back is. Never tried an actual alarm for it though, I just push through until I physically can’t ignore it anymore…
