[Learning] back to the book

Picked the book back up this week after pretty much ignoring it since spring.

Told myself back in January I’d read more this year, then work got busy, my kid had exams, the cats started waking up before sunrise, and the book just sat on the nightstand collecting dust.

My commute is long enough that I figured I might as well use some of it instead of just scrolling on my phone. Got through 22 pages on the train this morning, which is honestly the most I’ve read in one sitting in a while.

Not going to pretend that’s a lot, and I know it’ll probably slip again once work gets crazy, but it felt nice having something to look forward to on the ride home instead of just doom scrolling.

Not trying to finish some huge stack of books, just want the habit back for now.

same feeling here, started jogging again 5 weeks ago after months of doing nothing and having that one thing to look forward to instead of just job apps helps more than i expected

does it have to slip though?

maybe it slips sometimes but having it on the nightstand still counts for something!

This happened with my knitting too, left it untouched for months and picked it back up 3 weeks ago, now it’s the one thing I look forward to after work
