Went cash-only for groceries and small extras this week, 2 weeks is the plan, mostly because the paycheck feels less steady with interviews stacking up, and I wanted an actual ‘boundary’ instead of another app I would stop opening after 3 days. Pulled a set amount out Monday morning and it has been sitting in an envelope since, once it is gone, it is gone until the next withdrawal, no exceptions. 3 days in and I have already caught myself reaching for the card out of habit twice, once at the coffee place and once scrolling through a delivery app before closing it without ordering, which honestly felt like a small win! The tea-instead-of-picking thing from last week is still holding too, oddly enough. With two weddings on the calendar before the year is out, having something left in that envelope matters more than it used to.
