what stuck from that skin barrier video

So this popped up in one of those skin routine videos I was half watching last month, right before the weather started turning…

the presenter said something like, right before a season change don’t add anything new, just strip it back to basics and get moisture on while your skin’s still damp. that’s the part that actually stuck with me, out of like 40 minutes of talking haha

I’ve had the flare-every-season-change thing going for a few years now so I figured why not try it. cut my routine down to basically 3 steps for about 3 weeks. cleanser, a plain moisturizer, and that’s kinda it. made sure to put it on within like 5 minutes of getting out of the shower insted of doing my hair first like I usually do lol

honestly?? this is the first season change in a while where I didn’t get that whole cheek flare I usually dread. did get a small dry patch on my jaw around week 2 but it calmed down on its own, didn’t have to do anything extra for it. the itching at night was way less too, that’s the part that actually let me sleep haha

I mean, I’m not saying it’s some fix, I’m still just in the maintaining phase and this could just be a calmer season for me overall, who knows. but the “don’t add new stuff, just moisturize fast” thing is such a small note and it actually held up for me this time so, like, worth remembering I guess

anyone else have a random tip like that from a video or class that ended up being the one thing that stuck, out of everything else you forgot
