been sitting at this desk about 9 hours a day since I went remote, and the backs of my knees have been driving me up the wall for weeks.
saw a comment on a forum thread (not even a skin one, it was a WFH ergonomics thread) about mesh chair backs vs the pleather kind, and how much it changes things for people who sweat a lot at a desk. one line stuck with me:
“switched just the seat cover, was less irritated within 2 weeks”
decluttering for the move anyway, so instead of buying a whole new chair I just grabbed a cheap breathable cover. wore shorts the first few days on purpose so I’d actually notice instead of assuming.
day 4 the redness behind my left knee calmed down some. by day 12 it wasn’t waking me up at night anymore, which was honestly a relief! right knee took closer to 3 weeks, still not totally there.
could be the weather shifting too, not ruling that out, but the timing lined up close enough that I’m switching the chair at my old desk before we pack it up.
anyone else notice the actual material under you making a difference, or am I just connecting dots that aren’t there
