randomly watched a skin video a couple weeks back, algorithm just threw it at me lol
guy in it was talking about indoor humidity and eczema, said 40-60% is the sweet spot for the skin barrier
never actually checked my own place before, just guessed based on how dry my skin felt
grabbed a cheap hygrometer, like $12
living room was 28%
my home office corner where I sit all day for work was even worse, 24%
that’s… way drier than I expected
been running a humidifier by my desk since then, keeping it around 45% during the day
hands and the backs of my knees have been noticeably less itchy the past 2 weeks
not a cure obviously, my face still flares when the weather flips
but nice having an actual number to aim for instead of just guessing
packing up the apartment for the move too so humidity’s all over the place every time I open a box.
