my hands were the last thing i expected to flare up this time.
i’m at this desk all day for work, then right back in the same chair for gaming at night, so my hands are pretty much glued to a mouse and keyboard nonstop. figured the itching on my knuckles was just the usual dry-skin thing that happens when the weather turns for me.
turned out it wasn’t JUST the weather.
i was packing up old gear for the move and pulled out this rough fabric mouse pad i’d had forever, the kind with frayed edges from years of use. my wrist sits right on that edge for hours at a stretch. swapped it for a smooth pad, started putting lotion on before i sit down to play instead of after, and honestly the knuckle cracking calmed down way faster than it usually does this time of year.
also went back to keeping my nails short, mostly because i noticed i was scratching between rounds without even clocking it.
still watching it closely since the season isn’t done with me yet, but that mouse pad swap probably should’ve happened years ago.
