been going through the closet and living room before the move, pulled the couch cushions apart to vacuum under them properly.
found a decluttering channel that mentioned something I hadn’t thought about — the spot you sit in most on a couch collects way more dust and skin flakes than the rest, especially if you’re parked there for hours (between wfh and gaming, my corner of the couch barely gets a break).
what stuck with me wasn’t the cleaning tip itself, it was hearing that spot turns into its own little dust reservoir over time, worse than a mattress because nobody strips a couch cushion cover and washes it regularly.
pulled mine apart and the cover hadn’t been washed since I got the couch, kind of embarrassing honestly.
been washing the covers on a normal cycle since, and vacuuming the cushion foam whenever I do a pass. my forearms, where they rest on the armrest for hours, have been calmer.
not saying that’s the whole reason things have settled down lately, could be the season shift too, but it’s another thing to check off before this couch gets packed up for the new place.
