turns out it’s yeast, not dry skin

Finally get why my moisturizer never touched the flaking on my scalp and hairline. Watched a dermatology video last week explaining seborrheic dermatitis is basically skin reacting to yeast that’s already living there, not a moisture problem like typical eczema. That’s why every heavy cream I kept slathering on at night made it worse, basically feeding the thing causing the flare. Switched to something lighter after showers instead, it’s been 12 days now and the scaling along my part line has calmed down a lot. Wish someone explained this back when I first got diagnosed instead of just handing me a steroid cream!
