the delayed reaction thing from a video

Watched a video on my lunch break last week, some dermatology nurse channel I land on whenever I search about hand eczema again, and one thing she said stuck with me more than the rest — a reaction to something new, a detergent, a soap, doesn’t usually show up right away. It takes a while to surface, longer if your skin’s already worked up about something else.

That reframed a chunk of my notebook for me, and might save anyone else logging this stuff the same spiral I’ve been in. I’ve been writing down meals, sleep, and when my hands or neck flare for a while now, and I kept getting annoyed with myself for not being able to line things up same-day — like why would my hands get worse the morning after I switched body wash, not the evening I actually switched it. Turns out that’s not me being sloppy with the log, apparently that’s just how it works.

Doesn’t mean I’ve figured out what’s actually setting me off. Work stress is still the biggest variable and the hardest one to isolate, since a brutal week at my desk and a new bottle of detergent can land in the same stretch pretty easily. But I’m not tossing the notebook over it… just backing up a day before I try to draw a line from anything to anything.
