Shoulder tension crept back this week, headache right behind it, so I went back to that lunchtime wellness talk my company ran a while back about the body holding onto job stress. only jotted a few notes at the time and forgot most of it, my bad.
What stuck this time: the presenter said relaxing the shoulders directly barely works, because the tension actually starts lower, in the jaw and the breath. she put it like this:
“unclench the jaw, the shoulders will follow eventually”
So the last few nights after the kids went down I skipped the usual shoulder rolls and just sat there unclenching my jaw and slowing my breathing before stretching at all. felt kind of ‘silly’ about it, honestly. after a few nights the headache skipped the next morning, which hasn’t happened during a busy stretch like this in a while.

Also grabbed a secondhand rowing machine off a local resale group, way cheaper than store price, so there’s an actual reason to get off the couch now instead of just intentions. still barely moving through the book I started, a page here and there most nights before I’m out.
