been trying to find one long stretch of time to study for the exam, but some weeks that stretch just does NOT exist, so last week I watched a clip from a course I’m taking for work where the instructor said something that stuck, break the task into chunks that fit the gaps you have instead of waiting for a gap that fits the task. so instead of needing a free evening I started doing 20 minute blocks whenever they show up, before a client call, while coffee’s brewing, whatever. added up to more than I expected without ever sitting down and dreading one long session. still not consistent everyday but a lot less all or nothing than before.
– set a timer for 20 min, no phone nearby
– any topic counts, doesn’t have to be in order
– stop when the timer goes off even mid page, pick it up next chunk
small thing but its taken some of the pressure off lately 🙂
