Finally got through the rest of that video I’d paused on the bus a while back, forget how many weeks it’s been sitting half watched.

Posted on the weekly thread not long ago about falling behind and missing time on this board. Not on purpose. Everything just piled up at once. Honestly hadn’t caught up on much since then.
One thing did stick though. The video was about wedding gift money, some guy running a planning chanel, and his whole point was simple: pick the amount before you open the registry, not after. Decide first. Then go in and buy at that number. No browsing. No checking what else is listed. No doing math in my head about what I gave at someone else’s wedding before.
Sounds obvious typed out like that. Didn’t feel obvious at the time, with invitations just sitting there and me not opening any of them.
Tried it on the ride home yesterday. Set the number in my head before I even opened the app. Picked something, paid, closed it. Barely any time spent spiraling over it, which is not how that usually goes for me.
Garden’s still a mess. Mornings are still rough some days. But getting through gift shopping without the usual spiral felt like something. Writing it down here so I remember it works, next time I’m just staring at an invitation instead of opening it.
