Posted about tying the watering to the end of my shift 11 days ago. A couple of you asked in the comments how it was holding up, so closing the loop.
It held, 11 days straight, no gaps.
The comment about route mattering more than willpower is what actually fixed it. My old drive home never passed the plot, so it always came down to remembering, and I never remembered after a late shift. New route goes straight past the gate, adds about 6 minutes.
What stuck after almost 2 weeks:
– anchoring to an existing habit beats anchoring to a time of day, my schedule kept sliding
– the extra 6 minutes mattered way less than I expected
– weekends are still weak, no shift to anchor to, so I water before coffee instead now
– weeding still gets skipped more than watering does
Wanted to close the loop since the route idea came from the comments and it’s the part that actually worked.
