fewer skipped days, not more reps

Finally watched that beginner strength video I’d bookmarked for weeks, the kind made for people with basically zero muscle built up. I expected a list of exercises, but what actually stuck was near the end, when the instructor said the number that matters isn’t reps, it’s how many days in a row you don’t skip it completely.

That reframed the whole thing for me. I’ve been doing 10 minutes before bed instead of a real workout, and I haven’t missed a day in 9 days straight. Some nights it’s just the floor stretch from the warm-up, nothing past that, and I used to think that didn’t count.

Shoulders still lock up most Thursdays from sitting through job search emails, but showing up feels less impossible than getting stronger ever did.

the floor stretch counting thing hit me too, I used to think a half effort didn’t count until I noticed I just kept not skipping it either way…

same, swapping reps for not skipping has been the only thing that actually stuck for me

mine’s only day 6 of the ‘stretch’ and shoulders still lock up Thursdays!
