Passed a woman on a bike on the main road this morning, panniers loaded up like she was headed somewhere specific — work, maybe, or just an errand that actually mattered. Something about it stopped me for a moment.

I used to have that. Somewhere to be, an actual route I ran on autopilot without thinking. These days it’s applications first, then a loop around the neighborhood instead of a commute — a routine, just not one that’s going anywhere yet.
Watched her turn off toward downtown and kept going myself. No idea where she was headed. Just liked that she clearly knew.
