Three weeks in and no pattern

My hands have been cracked at the knuckles for three weeks straight, and I know which nights make it worse because I’ve been writing it all down. Tuesday and Wednesday I was at my desk typing until almost 7, and both mornings after, my hands were red and tight before I even showered.

I sit an hour and a half each way on the train for this job, and some nights there isn’t much left by the time I get home. Baked a loaf of bread yesterday because it still feels like mine, and my hands stung the whole time I was kneading it.

Three weeks of notebook entries and I still can’t find the pattern. Some of the worst days line up with deadline weeks. Some don’t.

I’m just tired of watching my own hands like a warning system! And tired of figuring out how close I want to be with people at work.

Rough week. That’s really all this is.

the knuckle cracking is such a specific kind of miserable, mine did that for almost 3 weeks straight last spring and I never found a clean pattern either. commute typing sounds brutal on top of it, my hands used to flare on the days I was on my laptop past 8pm regardless of anything else going on that week.
