Trying to job hunt through a flare

Had a phone interview and spent half of it worrying the video round next week will catch the flare on my hairline under bad lighting. Its been 5 weeks since this seborrheic thing started, not what most people here deal with, so I feel a bit out of place posting. Picked up knitting tonight instead of scratching at it. Opened my budget spreadsheet for the first time in 3 months and just stared at it. Not sure how many things I can hold at once!

Disagree that this doesn’t belong here. Hard Days isn’t sorted by diagnosis, it’s sorted by how heavy the week is, and yours sounds heavy. Worrying about a hairline flare showing on a video call is a real cost, not a smaller one just because it’s seborrheic instead of something more visible. I’ve sat through 2 calls this year angling my face away from the light the whole time.

Five weeks in and still job hunting on top of it, that’s a lot to carry at once. The video round part really got me, I used to work front desk before switching to nights and got anxious about my hairline under office lighting. Did they give you an actual day for it yet? The seborrheic thing isn’t off topic here either, skin is skin, a flare doesn’t care what category it gets filed under.

The video call worry hits close to home. I do freelance work and had a client call last spring during a bad flare along my hairline, and spent most of the prep time adjusting the ring light angle instead of going over my notes, trying to find a spot where it wouldn’t show. Tilting the camera up slightly helped some, though nothing hides it completely once you know it’s there.
