Mind Time ›Tearful Stories

Just needed to say it somewhere

My hands were so tense and cracked by the time I got home last night that I couldn’t fully close my fist. The neck patch right along my hairline is doing the same thing again, it’s been flaring on and off since the second week of August.

I’ve been logging meals and sleep and detergent for about 3 months now, trying to line it up, and I still can’t tell what’s doing this. Yesterday was 9 hours at my desk with a meeting that ran long, and by the time I got to my car my hands were worse than they’ve been in weeks. Not sure if it’s the job, the detergent, or just… the season turning, honestly.

Walking Path

I don’t really have a point tonight. The drive home is 90 minutes each way and I spent most of it just looking at my hands on the wheel instead of the road. Just tired, I guess. Tired of writing things down and still not knowing.

not being able to close your fist stopped me in my tracks. has the desk and commute been constant, or did that ramp up recently? wondering if it’s stress playing into this more than the detergent

OP, the part about your hands not fully closing hit hard, mine get like that too when a flare is bad. My neck’s been doing something similar since the first week of August, right along the hairline, comes and goes for no clear reason. I’ve been logging things for 2 months now and still can’t line it up with anything.

Not being able to close your fist is such a specific kind of miserable, I’ve had that happen after a bad week too! For me it’s never just one trigger, it’s more like my body has a limit and once I blow past it everything flares at once.

Not being able to close your fist is such a specific kind of awful, I’ve been there. My neck patch flares after long days too, it kicked off about 6 weeks ago and still comes and goes.
