Hiding the flakes under a hat

Interview lined up and my hairline’s flaking nonstop this week, worse then usual! Thinking of wearing a hat on the way and pulling it off right before I walk in. Would that trap heat and make it flare more though? Anyone hide flaking before something big like this? 😅
