Scratching through cover letters

Sent out another round of applications this morning and caught myself scratching my scalp through half the cover letters, didn’t notice till my fingertips stung. Not the clean eczema story everyone here has, more the flaky patches by my brows nobody’s agreed on. Knitting insted of picking works until a rejection lands and my hands go right back up on their own. Mom keeps saying it’s stress. Some days I believe her, other days I just want one thing to be simple.
