Lukewarm showers, still rough

Swapped my hot showers for lukewarm ones, did it for 14 days straight now. Hairlines still flaking and a bit raw, but the redness backed off some. Interview prep for a new job is happening this week too, not helping the stress side of things, so my hands have been busy knitting most evenings instead of picking at my scalp. Reopened my budget app after ignoring it for months, small thing but it felt like something. Not a fix, just wanted to put this out there, everyone.

The redness backing off by day 14 lines up with what I saw too, lukewarm water took closer to 3 weeks before my hairline calmed down and the itching lingered even after the redness eased. Work stress is my main trigger as well, had a stretch of back to back deadlines a while back and my scalp got worse within days instead of better, so I get why the interview prep is messing with things right

does knitting help you avoid picking…

The flaking around the hairline sticking around even after the redness calms down is so familiar, mine took almost 6 weeks to fully quit even with lukewarm showers the whole time. Knitting through the stress instead of picking at your scalp is such a good swap, I did the same thing during my own job hunt last year and it actually broke the habit for good!

the budget app thing got me more than it probably should have, reopening something you’ve been avoiding is its own kind of progress even when the skin stuff isn’t cooperating… I did something similar with my garden log after letting it sit for way too long, felt like proof I hadn’t totally checked out even on the rough days
