Spent almost 3 hours in that waiting room again yesterday, sitting with my mom before her scan.
Those chairs do something to my elbows, always have, the vinyl gets warm and sticky under the AC and by the second hour I’m rubbing at the crease without noticing.
Started keeping a small tube of plain lotion in my bag a few weeks back, no fragrance, nothing fancy. Put it on once when we sat down and again closer to the end.
Didn’t stop the itch completely, but it wasn’t the raw, cracked mess I usually walk out with.
Funny thing is I started this whole habit because of the hikes, not the hospital. My legs were fine going up but shaking so bad coming down that I figured I should carry more in my bag anyway… ended up throwing the lotion in there too, almost as an afterthought.
Not sure which one helped more, the lotion or just remembering to stop scratching. Either way, my elbows looked less angry by the time we got home.
