Had a team call today that ran long, right through lunch. Didn’t notice until I stood up and my hip locked for a second. Almost 5 hours in that chair without getting up once.
Somewhere in the middle of it one of the newer guys asked, kind of offhand, how I’d been doing since “everything.” Not mean about it, just curious I think. I gave some flat answer and moved on, but it sat with me the rest of the call. I never know how much to say to people I work with. Too little and it feels like I’m hiding something, too much and now they’re carrying it too.
By the time the call ended I didn’t want to talk to anyone else the rest of the day. Closed the laptop, didnt touch the keyboard like I’d planned, just sat on the porch for a while. Dont even know why that one question knocked me off like that, it wasnt a big deal really.
Just one of those days where being around people, even over a screen, took more out of me than it should have.
