Yesterday was one of those days where I got home at 7:30pm after the drive back, and my neck already felt tight along the collar before I even got my coat off, so first thing I did was flop on the couch for a minute, then go straight to the kitchen to start a loaf of bread because my hands needed something to do that wasn’t scratching.
By 9pm the bread was in the oven and I finally sat down with the notebook, wrote down what I ate that day, how many hours I slept the night before (5.5, not great), and the time the itching started (around 4pm, right in the middle of a meeting that ran long).
I went back and flipped through the last few weeks while I was at it. Turns out I’ve written some version of “long day, typing” 4 times this month alone. Same words, different pages.
– meetings back to back
– drive home, 1.5 hours
– hands worse by evening
– write it down, go to bed
At this point I’m not sure if the notebook is actually telling me anything new or if I’ve just built myself a very detailed diary of being tired. Either way I closed it around 10:30 and went to bed anyway. Bread turned out fine, for what it’s worth.
