Rotated onto nights again this week, 3rd one in a row tonight, and my whole schedule’s flipped upside down for maybe the 10th time this year.
Warm in the break room around 2am, everyone rolls their sleeves up, and one of the newer guys asked why I keep mine down even with the heat on. I just said I run cold, which isn’t even true.
Easier than getting into the whole tapering thing 3 weeks in, when my arms still look rough in spots. Not that I owe anyone an explanation, it’s just that once you say the words out loud people start watching you differently, asking how it’s going every shift, and I’m not up for that yet. In my case anyway, might be different for other folks here.
Ended up doodling on my break instead of thinking about it, little birds in the margin of my notebook, same thing I’ve done for probably 40 years when my hands need something to do.
Guess I’ll figure out what to tell people eventually. For now the long sleeves work fine.
