Together Open Table

empty week, dreading the busy one

This week is dead quiet, no calls, no new emails.

Last month I had 4 projects overlapping and pulled two all-nighters in one week just to make deadlines.

Now there’s nothing due and somehow I still can’t fall asleep before 2am.

A vibrant cluster of purple bellflowers spills over the edge of a rustic brick wall in the immediate

I keep telling myself I’ll use the quiet stretch to walk more, cook properly, get back on some kind of schedule. Instead a slow week just turns into more hours on the couch.

My partner thinks I’m making it up since on paper I have way more free time now than I’ve had in months…

The cats don’t care either way, they just want breakfast on time.

Anyone else on an irregular schedule, freelance or otherwise? How do you keep any kind of routine going when the workload swings that hard, or do you just write some weeks off?

The slow week turning into more couch time instead of walks hits close to home, my schedule is the same way once the pressure’s off. What’s worked a little for me is picking one fixed time, like a 9pm walk no matter what, otherwise the free hours just get absorbed by nothing.
