another rejection came back today, the fast kind where you can tell it’s an auto-reply before you even open it (you’d think I’d be used to it by now, but nah). normally that stings a bit but I just shut the laptop and picked up my knitting instead, got a few rows in before I noticed my shoulders had actually dropped from around my ears for once. after that I pulled up the budget app again too, mostly just to see where things stand before the next batch of applications goes out. nothing major happened, honestly, just a quiet evening where yarn won over doomscrolling and I didn’t even mind. felt like a small win by the end of it.
