already overplanning this trip

okay so I’m supposedly going away for a few days next month, nothing fancy, just a short break before things get busier again, and somehow I already have a shared doc going with a packing list, a rough budget, and an itinerary broken down by time of day.

I keep telling myself this is supposed to be the relaxing part!

Then I catch myself checking teh weather forecast again and refreshing secondhand listings in another tab because I’m still trying to sell furniture before the move, and the whole thing turns into another project instead of something to look forward to.

Even a short outing on the weekend wipes me out these days, my brain doesn’t seem to know how to just be off for a bit.

For anyone who actually comes back from trips feeling better instead of more tired, do you plan less on purpose, or is it more about how you spend the time once you’re there? Where do people even start with loosening the grip without feeling like something’s going to slip through the cracks?

the weather-checking loop is so relatable

honestly i don’t think planning is the enemy here, for me a loose structure is what keeps the actual stressful stuff from spiraling… maybe just ditch the hour by hour itinerary

how loose, like 2hr blocks instead of hourly?
