that moving tip actually worked

Posted here a while back about packing up while the cats were already stressed out from the boxes everywhere.

Tried the thing a few people mentioned, keeping a room completely untouched so they’d still have somewhere that felt normal.

Actually helped a lot! They stopped hiding under the bed as much and just started watching from the doorway instead.

Mountains Mountain

Work got slammed out of nowhere again right after that, so the packing basically stalled.

Kitchen’s still untouched, which apparently tracks with what everyone else said last time too.

The one who wasn’t eating is back to bugging me at the counter like nothing happened.

Still behind on boxes but the house feels calmer than it did.

glad the untouched room trick actually worked, that doorway-watching stage beats hiding under the bed for sure! it reminded me how keeping just one thing steady during a chaotic week, like my 7am walk, keeps me from feeling totally off too.

ugh the work got slammed timing is so real, my packing stalled for 3 weeks the second a project landed too. glad the cats are doing better though!

Doorway-watching instead of full hiding under the bed is a real shift. Curious how long the kitchen ends up staying the untouched room for you, since ours sat like that for weeks once work piled back up.
