stiff legs after hospital waits?

Spent 2 hours in a waiting room with my mom this morning while she got her scan done, and by the time we left my legs felt stiff in a way that had nothing to do with the run I did at 6am, more like they’d fallen asleep.

I got up and stretched a couple times but the chairs were packed so there wasn’t much room to move. Should’ve just stood by the door instead.

Does sitting that long undo whatever the run did, or am I just noticing it more since I was already moving earlier than usual. Anyone know if that’s an actual thing?

I get something similar after my commute, not from running, just from sitting still close to 90 minutes each way, and by the time I’m off the train my legs feel almost exactly like what you’re describing, more fallen-asleep than sore, so

2 hours trapped in those chairs would stiffen anyone up, running or not. My commute runs about 90 minutes each way and by the time I get home my legs feel locked up in that same pins and needles way, no running involved at all. Yesterday I sat through almost the whole ride without being able to shift around much and had to stand in the kitchen for a few minutes before it eased off.

honeyoatmeal said no running involved and that’s exactly it, I don’t think the run has anything to do with it either. Sat with my dad in a waiting room for almost 3 hours last week before his checkup and my legs went completely numb and tingly by the time they called us back, same pins and needles thing you’re describing, and I hadn’t even walked much before that.

Same after my 3hr move today, legs locked up!

Waited 3 hours at the DMV last month and my legs went just as stiff, had nothing to do with whether I’d exercised earlier that day!
