Hi, I’m gilttara. Shift work keeps flipping my schedule, and something like 8 hours a day sitting hasn’t done my posture or skin any favors! Trying to turn it around, slowly.

shift work wrecked my skin too, the broken sleep hit harder than the sitting. any breaks to stretch during your shift?

the sitting wrecked my shoulders too, up every 2 hours

gilttara, the schedule flipping part is what gets me, even on a steady 9 to 5 a rough work week still shows up on my jawline within a day or two, so shift work messing with your skin makes sense to me. washing my face right when I get home instead of waiting until bed helped a little, and cutting phone time in bed after a bad week.

9 hours a day at a desk did a number on my posture long before shift work got involved, shoulders rounded forward and i barely noticed until it was bad… a timer to stand every hour helped more than anything else did. hope the schedule eases up for you soon!

I’d push back a little, the sitting wasn’t really what wrecked my husband’s skin during his shift years, it was the odd meal timing at 2am. Fixing that helped more than posture ever did!

That tracks for me too. My worst breakouts always came from eating way too late on shift nights, not the sitting. Once I moved dinner to before 9pm things actually calmed down some.

probably both, mine flared after 3 bad nights

gilttara did you move dinner earlier every night or just on shift days, curious how you managed to keep that going with the wonky schedule lol

mostly just on shift days honestly, that’s when the 2am eating happened. on days off I still ate around 7pm anyway. took about 3 weeks before it stuck, I kept forgetting when tired! still slip sometimes

tried the hourly stand timer for about 2 weeks along with eating earlier, breakouts are down some, not gone but noticeably calmer than before
