[Saved] 15 min a day beat weekend packing blitzes

Packing for this move had been dragging for weeks, kept trying to do it in one big push on weekends and then just… not touching it again till the next one. Switched to a flat 15 minutes a day instead, timer on my phone, whatever room I’m in when it goes off is where I stop.

A few things that made it stick:

– pick ONE small area a day instead of “the closet” as a whole (closets always felt like their own project), so it’s never big enough to want to skip
– no sorting by category across the whole apartment, just by physical space
– if I go over 15 minutes I stop anyway, whatever’s left rolls into tomorrow

3 weeks in, 12 boxes done, haven’t lost a weekend to it yet. Old way I’d burn a whole Saturday and still feel behind by Sunday night. I think the timer matters more than the 15 minutes does, it’s the stopping point that keeps me from skipping the day or burning out on day 4.

Furniture and anything needing 2 people still has to happen in a block though, doesn’t shrink down no matter how I split it.

The 15-minute timer trick might work for me too, I always try to do a whole room and burn out after 20 minutes. Gonna try just one shelf a day instead
