[Did] Anyone else fight neck pain from sitting all day?

6 months of working from home now and my neck and shoulders are wrecked by 6pm most days. No gym background, no real strength built up, basically starting from zero, so most stretch routines I find online look built for someone already in decent shape.

View of a rainy cityscape through a window with water droplets.

I get up every hour to walk to the kitchen and back, but it barely helps by evening. Shoulders end up near my ears and there’s a dull ache at the base of my skull by the time I log off.

Sorry for the long post, but two things I’m hoping someone can help with. First, does anyone have something short they actually do right at the desk, not a whole workout, just something between tasks. Second, did it take a while to notice a difference, or was it pretty fast for you?

In my case it wasn’t the stretches that helped, it was getting my monitor up to eye level instead of hunching over a laptop screen. The hourly walks barely touched it for me either.
