[Did] walking it off before I sit down to game

Been spending most of my days at the desk lately, job hunting takes way more screen time than I expected, applications, prepping for calls, staring at a screen until my neck just locks up. After I log off for the day I used to go straight into gaming, controller in hand before I’d even really stood up, and by the time I noticed how stiff I was it’d already been hours.

So at some point I started making myself walk around the block before touching the controller, doesn’t matter if it’s short or if I’m dragging my feet the first few minutes, just get outside first. Some evenings I skip it, especially if I’m mid something and tell myself I’ll go after, and then I don’t.

But on the days I actually go

– my back doesn’t feel locked into that one position anymore
– I’m way less tempted to just sit there snacking without noticing
– I come back and actually want to sit down and play instead of sliding into it out of habit

Been doing more hospital trips with my parents too, and sitting in those waiting room chairs for however long kind of made me notice how much my body just braces itself when I’m stuck sitting for a stretch. Not saying the walk fixes any of that, just feels like one clean break in the day before I’m back at it for hours.
