[Did] Cut that list down to two things

Wrote on here yesterday about keeping some parts of the routine and skipping the rest, and looking back at that list I think it was just too long to begin with. Five or six things to remember right after a night shift is a lot to ask of anyone, especially before coffee.

So I cut it down to just two things!

– stand up on every loading screen, not just the cutscenes
– lights off and phone face down by 9am no matter what the shift looked like

That’s the whole list now. No stretch timer, no sticky notes everywhere, nothing else on there.

Did it for 6 days straight. Missed the 9am part once because the shift ran long and I was still in the car, but the standing up held every single day, probably because the game’s doing half the work for me at this point.

My back still complains by hour two of sitting, that part hasn’t changed. But two things I can actually remember beats five things I keep half-doing and feeling bad about.

Going to stick with just these two for now and see how the next week goes.

6 days on a two-item list is solid, how many actual night shifts did that cover since they are not back to back? I trimmed mine to one rule and still slipped twice in the first week.

two rules held for me too, 5 weeks now

Cutting it down that far is probably why it’s sticking, six things is basically a second job on top of the first one. Mine’s 3 items and I still slipped on one last week.
