My water bottle situation never really registered as a problem until last week. The 32oz bottle on my desk meant I only got up once every three or 4 hours to refill it, so I swapped it for a small glass just to see what would happen, and it’s done more for getting me out of this chair than any of the ‘sit to stand’ stuff I’ve been doing.
– big bottle: full around 9am, didn’t run dry until 2pm
– small glass: empty in under an hour if I’m actually drinking enough
– that’s 5 or 6 trips to the kitchen in a workday instead of 1

I didn’t plan this as exercise, it just turned into one because the glass is annoying enough that I keep refilling it, and each trip is maybe 30 seconds there and back, but on a day with 4 back to back meetings I still ended up standing twice between calls just for a refill, which hasn’t happened with the big bottle in months.
Only catch is the glass has to be genuinely small. Tried a 16oz mug first and it barely changed anything, that’s still enough to coast through a whole morning.
